How the EPC planner ranks upgrades
This planner uses broad retrofit heuristics rather than a full SAP calculation. Each possible upgrade has an indicative EPC point uplift, typical cost range, annual saving estimate, and a relevance filter based on property age, property type, and what is already installed.
The ranked list favours measures with stronger value for money inside the chosen budget, but still accounts for bigger-ticket upgrades such as heat pumps and solar when the budget allows. The projected new EPC band is a directional estimate designed for planning conversations, not a replacement for a formal EPC assessment.
